The Rooms

« Crystal », « Ivory », « Wood » and « Copper » offer you their welcoming comfort and authentic charm.

Each with a view of the grounds has its own independent entry, its own en-suite bathroom and an equipped kitchen corner.

Family furniture evokes travel souvenirs and replies to works of artists. Everything invites you to benefit from a tranquil pause during a restful stay.

For the well-being of all, the indoor areas are non-smoking and our animal friends are not accepted.

The Crystal Room

To discover the grand intimacy of « Crystal » let yourself be guided by the spiral staircase. It is carved from venerable oak wine casks assembled by our cooper ancestors.

Majestic, the large pendant chandelier makes the Indian embroidery of the canopy sparkle. It also knows how to become a discreet companion, prelude to a gentle romantic night.

The rustic wardrobe where our great grandmother Marie-Louise hid chocolate reminds us of the past history of the beautiful room « Crystal » as a hay loft all in beams and half-timbered.

The windows of the large shower-room open south on a view of the grounds.

For breakfast, you just need to cross the courtyard and climb the 3 steps to the entrance, the dining room awaits you.

The Wood Room

Nestling in the corner of the house, against the bread oven, « Wood » opens resolutely south and captures attention by its light and warm atmosphere.

The calm and cosy comfort have succeeded to the rough music of the antique wooden wine-press, bygone veteran of generations of hardworking, passionate wine-growers.

The rich documentation gives you numerous perspectives on the present and past of Touraine: Cultural treasures, literary souvenirs, gastronomical halts, itinerary proposals, photo albums, sporting activities, and history books.

Close your eyes a few instants: to those who can hear, the beams and half-timbered whisper their souvenirs as one-time stables.

The « treasures» uncovered in family attics, set the authentic décor and initiate a pleasant dialogue with the artists creations.

Whilst the afternoon sun reflects in the alu-engravings by Madeleine Jalby-Marty, the silent butterflies flit from one wall to the other, between the patterns of the plates, survivors from great-grandmother Irma’s table service, and the marqueteries by Dominique Ciamarone.

It was the old doors to the main house, disguised as panelling, which were the first to be colonized by discreet lodgers, fixed in Véronique Plault’s ceramics. Doubtless a happy consequence of the comfort and calmness of the place.

The Cooper Room

In the shelter of the solid half-timbers of « Copper », great-grandfather Théophile’s clock has collected around it several souvenirs picked up during distant journeys.

The bronze reflections from the Moroccan trays and the Burmese trumpets gently quiver in the evening light, prelude to a peaceful night.

In the morning, as an interested guest I follow the ancestors gallery. A little moved by the 60th wedding anniversary photo of Silvine and Jean taken in 1895; then west to the corner kitchen-dining room- library. Tonight it will certainly be pleasant to prepare a small snack there. For the time-being, I reach an armchair, chose a work on the old workbench of cousin Jean-Pierre and plunge comfortably into the rich documentation.

Perhaps, starting with a circuit inside the house would present a more reasonable first objective?

Operation « discovery of the main dining room » for breakfast. Starting at the bed, one just has to count 1 sideboard; 2 cupboards, 4 doors, 6 steps and one is there. (A local guide is supplied upon arrival)

What pleasure, afterwards, to find again the warm atmosphere of « Copper » for a refreshing rest or sweet dreams lulled by new projects.
